DEPORTATION RISK FOR SEAFARERS? THE NEW EES SYSTEM IS COMING

From 12 of October the EES system will track every entry & exit in Schengen.

For crew, it’s even more important: we constantly monitor visa days / 90-day rule, and handle stamp in & stamp out procedures.

Don’t risk overstaying – let’s stay compliant together!

What is EES?

The Entry/Exit System (EES) will come into effect on 12 October 2025. European countries using EES will gradually introduce it at their external borders, and it will be fully operational by 10 April 2026.

Who must register in the EES?

EES applies to third-country nationals (non-EU, non-Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, or Switzerland citizens) who travel for short stays (up to 90 days in any 180-day period) in Schengen countries.

This includes travelers who:

  • Need a short-stay visa, OR
  • Do not need a visa but still enter for a short stay.

Where does EES apply?

It applies at the external borders of:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus*, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland. (*In Cyprus and Ireland, passports will still be stamped manually.)

Benefits of EES

  • Faster border checks: Replaces manual passport stamping with a digital system.
  • Easier travel: Self-service options and faster crossing times.
  • Prevents overstaying: Uses fingerprints & facial recognition to track entries/exits.
  • Stronger security: Helps identify irregular migration, fraud, and security risks.

What we offer – Bring your passport and we’ll count the days together! We can check your documents on October 9 or 10.
